We are seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations and provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. Job Description: The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, and small parts. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of sonography procedures and aseptic techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities: • Receive and prepare patients for testing by reviewing requisitions, assessing patient history, and explaining procedures • Perform ultrasound procedures using ultrasound and Doppler techniques to obtain high-quality images • Assist in procedural rooms by setting up biopsy trays and providing support to patients during procedures • Check images for technical quality and completeness, and discuss results with radiologists • Facilitate workflow by checking requisitions, regulating examination time, and arranging patient transportation • Monitor equipment performance and perform quality control duties • Participate in maintaining patient and hospital records • Participate in approved research and special projects Qualifications: • Graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Sonography • Certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) • Demonstrated knowledge of sonography procedures, aseptic techniques, and safe work procedures • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position About Fraser Health: Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in British Columbia, serving over 2 million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
