Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations on various sections of the body, including abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, and small parts.
Key Responsibilities:- Receives and prepares patients for testing by reviewing patient information, explaining procedures, and positioning patients for examination.
- Performs ultrasound procedures using ultrasound and Doppler techniques to obtain images and labelling permanent records.
- Assists in procedural rooms by setting up biopsy trays, assisting radiologists during interventional procedures, and providing support to patients.
- Checks resultant images for technical quality and completeness, prepares technical worksheets, and discusses images with radiologists.
- Facilitates workflow by checking requisitions, regulating inpatient examination time, and arranging transportation of patients.
- Monitors equipment performance, performs quality control duties, and notifies supervisors of equipment malfunctions.
- Participates in maintaining patient and hospital records, and participates in approved research and special projects.
- Graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Sonography and certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for Sonography procedures, aseptic techniques, and safe work procedures with diagnostic sonographic and medical imaging equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, co-workers, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
- Ability to operate related equipment and work independently and in collaboration with others.
