West Fraser is seeking a skilled Journeyperson Welder to join our team at Slave Lake Veneer. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our wood-based building products.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal using processes such as GTAW and SMAW welding.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to precision-cut metal components.
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment to join metal parts together.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and rolls to shape and form metal components.
- Participate in our safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
- Welding ticket, Level B or A.
- PWP #7 & #10 are preferred.
- Heavy industry experience.
- Previous experience in a flexible multi-skilled work environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Valid driver's license in AB.
- Competitive hourly pay rate based on experience, education, and location.
