Welding Opportunity at West Fraser

We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Welder to join our team at West Fraser's Slave Lake Veneer Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal using processes such as GTAW and SMAW welding.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to precision-cut metal components.
  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment to join metal parts.
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and rolls to shape and form metal components.
  • Participate in West Fraser's safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Welding ticket, Level B or A.
  • PWP #7 & #10 are preferred.
  • Heavy industry experience.
  • Previous experience in a flexible multi-skilled work environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Valid driver's license in AB.
