We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainable Propulsion Performance Analyst Intern to join our team at RTX Corporation. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects related to sustainable aviation and propulsion performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Advanced Performance team in evaluating engine performance of current and future products.
- Develop expertise in aviation climate science and metrics appropriate for engine design.
- Improve and deploy aviation contrail modeling methods within RTX Corporation.
- Run large-scale simulations and conduct data analysis.
- Contribute to developing an engine performance modeling framework for non-CO2 effects.
- Quantify the effects of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Hydrogen on non-CO2 engine performance.
- Execute engine cycle simulations to evaluate non-CO2 performance metrics.
- Create and deliver presentations at team meetings.
- Be eligible to work in Canada.
- Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout the internship.
- Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired.
- Pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering science, applied computing, computer science, or sustainable development.
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary problems that include physics, mathematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and algorithm development.
- Advanced capabilities in Python and MS Excel.
