About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sustainable Propulsion Performance Analysis and Methods Development Intern. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that focus on sustainable aviation and propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Advanced Performance team in evaluating engine performance of current and future products.
  • Develop expertise in aviation climate science and metrics appropriate for engine design.
  • Improve and deploy aviation contrail modeling methods within P&WC.
  • Run large-scale simulations and conduct data analysis.
  • Contribute to developing an engine performance modeling framework for non-CO2 effects.
  • Quantify the effects of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Hydrogen on non-CO2 engine performance.
  • Execute engine cycle simulations to evaluate non-CO2 performance metrics.
  • Create and deliver presentations at team meetings.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired.
  • Pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering science, applied computing, computer science, or sustainable development.
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary problems that include physics, mathematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and algorithm development.
  • Advanced capabilities in Python and MS Excel.
