Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is seeking a skilled Rail Traffic Controller to play a critical role in planning train movements through a geographical region in the safest and most efficient manner.
About the Job
- Coordinate train movements to optimize railway performance and minimize delays
- Facilitate emergency response and other unexpected events, prioritizing safety and minimizing impact to railway operations
- Maintain a high level of awareness of the operation at all times, taking accountability for safety and performance
- Participate in on-the-job safety audits to ensure safety rules are understood and implemented
Key Responsibilities
- Must be proficient in rules established by the Calgary Operations Centre, including CROR (Canadian Rail Operating Rules) and practices
- Coordinate train movements to optimize railway performance and minimize delays
- Facilitate emergency response and other unexpected events, prioritizing safety and minimizing impact to railway operations
- Maintain a high level of awareness of the operation at all times, taking accountability for safety and performance
- Participate in on-the-job safety audits to ensure safety rules are understood and implemented

Medical Requirements
As a safety-critical position, all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including a physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug audit. Pre-employment qualification drug tests are also required.
