Our client, a market leader in the industrial manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Red Seal Millwright to join their team in Peterborough, ON.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical plant equipment, as well as coordinating with 3rd party contractors as required.
Responsibilities- Inspect and repair process equipment, including pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Perform required maintenance on mobile equipment, such as loaders and forklifts.
- Troubleshoot and monitor process equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Interact with equipment operators to determine maintenance needs.
- Utilize welding and fabrication tools to alter, repair, and fabricate processing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as established by the company.
- Document and report all maintenance work performed and advise of future requirements in a timely manner.
- Test and adjust equipment to meet performance specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Operate company equipment safely and responsibly at all times.
- Adhere to OHSA workplace health and safety standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Work with 3rd party contractors as needed to install and troubleshoot equipment and services.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) millwright trade certificate.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a maintenance role.
- Valid driver's license.
- Forklift license, an asset.
- Confined space, an asset.
- Working at heights, an asset.
- Proficiency in English.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Time and stress management.
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to write clearly and legibly.
- Attention to detail.
- Systems process knowledge.
- Mechanical and electrical skills.
- Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, piping, threading, and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge in wood industry, an asset.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Experience in fabrication and welding of various metals, including pipe welding.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Write simple correspondence.
- Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
- Operate a forklift.
- Work at heights.
- Perform confined space entries.
- Basic math skills.
