Event Coordinator

The UBC Sauder School of Business is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to join our team. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events that support the strategic goals of the school.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement event strategies that align with the school's objectives
- Coordinate and manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audio-visual equipment
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners
- Manage event budgets and ensure financial sustainability
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events and increase revenue
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful event execution
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive event experience for attendees
- Two-year diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Tourism, or Event Management
- Minimum of three years experience in event planning and management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software
- Results-oriented and creative with excellent customer service and sales skills
- Experience in developing, planning, and implementing successful events
- Thorough knowledge of the university environment and academic structure
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple activities simultaneously
