First Student is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transit Driver to join our team. As a Transit Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive a transit vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain a strong attendance record and adhere to scheduled routes and timetables.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Assist passengers with disabilities, including those with wheelchairs or mobility aids.
- Notify dispatch of any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues with the vehicle.
- Collect fares and provide information to passengers as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Class BZ or CZ driving license and a clear driver abstract.
- First Aid certification and experience in transit operations an asset.
As a Transit Driver, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with passengers and dispatchers. You will be required to work rotating shifts, including early morning hours, and may be subject to wet, cold, or hot environmental conditions.
