As a result, we are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join our Milling division as a Junior Head Miller in Hanover, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing milling operations, ensuring that tasks are properly executed as per company standards. This position will primarily involve supervising, supporting, and providing guidance to the mill, including position coverage as required.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supervising milling operations with the Head Miller, assisting with training, inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
  • Monitoring, controlling, and focusing on improving efficiencies of the mill through communication, troubleshooting, and working with staff.
  • Ensuring all mills are running optimally and assisting hourly millers in daily mill performance checks.
  • Planning and preparing for sanitation work orders and mill maintenance during provided downtime.
  • Providing coverage for the Production Supervisor and Head Miller.
  • Organizing and maintaining flour sieves and milling consumable parts.
  • Assisting during downtime with heat treatments, cleaning, and sifter maintenance.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and a high standard of housekeeping and sanitation in accordance with BRCGS and Food Safety procedures.


The ideal candidate will possess a Secondary School Diploma, a minimum of 4 years of milling experience, and a Diploma, Certificate, or Advanced Certificate in Flour Milling. Additionally, they will have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, competent communication skills, and computer skills in Microsoft Office. Scheduling production experience would be an asset.

Parrish & Heimbecker offers a competitive compensation package, including a permanent, full-time position, $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience, 40 hours of work per week, and overtime pay after 44 hours. We also offer dental, vision, and extended health care benefits.
