Milling Operations Trainee

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our Milling division as a Miller Trainee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing daily assistance to First and Second Millers to meet flour production needs. Your primary job functions will include the preparation of wheat for milling and the loading of bulk flour tankers. You will be provided with the knowledge and skills required to grow your career in the flour milling industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Controlling and monitoring the complete flow of incoming, transfer wheat systems and tempering systems.
  • Debriefing with previous shift and communicating with incoming shift regarding overall state of equipment/systems, issues that arose and actions taken to rectify issues.
  • Grind, test and document results of various wheat samples.
  • Load all bulk flour tankers for their scheduled shipments.
  • Collaborating with mill staff and maintenance to assist with production issues.
  • Contributing to a safe work environment by following all Company policies and procedures including Health, Safety, Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Assisting in daily cleaning activities throughout the facility.
  • Providing coverage to wheat receiving area, as required.


Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to safely lift and stack 25kg bags repetitively.
  • Ability to work days, afternoons, and evenings on a rotating schedule.
  • Ability to work overtime, as required.
