About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Interfor. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mill equipment and supervising a team of maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Lead by example and operate to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Leadership: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and frequent interaction with maintenance trades staff to drive results.
  • Direction and Communication: Set clear direction and communicate effectively with the maintenance crew to ensure quality work and efficient operations.
  • Work Management: Effectively manage the work management system to minimize interruptions to production and optimize equipment performance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular performance reviews and schedule vacations for maintenance crew members.
  • Quality and Efficiency: Ensure that the maintenance group provides prompt, efficient, and quality-focused service to the production department.
  • Financial Management: Manage departmental spending and budgets, and develop and implement work plans to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education is preferred, and journeyman level millwright or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial setting, with maintenance supervision experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Work Safe BC regulations and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is an asset.
