**Key Responsibilities:**
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support for mechanical ventilation.
• Maintains documentation by ensuring reports, records, and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic/diagnostic strategies, and program-related issues.
• Monitors and performs required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment.
• Participates in quality improvement activities, such as developing, implementing, and evaluating written procedures and standards.
• Provides in-service education as required.
• Participates in meetings and departmental committees and contributes to problem identification and resolution.
**Qualifications:**
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam.
• Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C.
• Possession of and maintained Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
**Skills and Abilities:**
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
