About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Services Manager to join our team at Heartland Farm Mutual. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our actuarial team and providing strategic guidance on pricing and analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiency.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
    • Lead by example and demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Pricing and Analytics
    • Develop and implement pricing models and analytics to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
    • Conduct data analysis and provide insights to inform business decisions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Research and Development
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in actuarial science and analytics.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to stay informed about new technologies and best practices.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business strategies.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on team performance and progress.
Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in actuarial services, with a focus on pricing and analytics.
    • Proven track record of success in leading teams and developing and implementing business strategies.
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
