About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) Coordinator. In this role, you'll play a key part in enabling the successful delivery of our projects through the use of digital technologies. You'll work closely with our project teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess site conditions prior to construction to ensure that our projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Develop phased site development 2-D and 3-D drawings for construction, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other BIM authoring tools.
  • Coordinate the design of utilities, civil, nuclear, industrial, and UTS projects to ensure that our projects are delivered in accordance with the highest standards.
  • Create and maintain corridors/sections/profiles for rail and road design alignments, using 3-D modeling and other digital tools.
  • Perform quantity take-offs using cut/fill tracking, XML surface extractions, and other digital tools.
  • Support the IDD Director/IDD Manager or project BIM lead to ensure that the correct activities are assigned to the consultant supply chain information managers.
  • Provide coordination reports of the interfaces between engineering disciplines/design and construction/temporary and permanent works design activities, through the IDD process.
  • Coordinate and develop the design to construction through IDD processes such as 5D/4D to ensure consideration and optimization of opportunities for sustainability, digital engineering, buildability, carbon, logistics, industrialization, designing for maintenance, and health, safety, and welfare during construction and in-use.
  • Run IDD tools training workshops to enable people to deliver their responsibilities in relation to Aecon IDD Strategy.
  • Coordinate with project managers and construction managers to develop a project-specific process for utilizing or creating 3-D information for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, field layout, and/or facilitates management.
  • Coordinate with field superintendents and construction managers, design engineers, and others to meet constructability requirements.
  • Create project-specific protocols regarding communication and data exchange, nomenclature, format, 3-D workspace orientation to ensure interoperability as required.
  • Facilitate consultants and trades through multiple project phases with digital logistic construction management process.
  • Assist in the creation of project-specific contract language for tender packages for 3-D submission process and 3-D as-builts for facilities management.
  • Review, coordinate, and manage the creation of project information models.
  • Project deployment duties include installing software, organizing, maintaining, and setting up CAD exchange environments, basic training & support for project team, coordination assistance, file conversions, and documenting process and solutions for reuse.
  • Champion 3-D coordination on active job sites, act as liaison with project team, consultants, and subcontractors to facilitate process and maintain Master Project BIM database.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that will enhance or improve processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Highly proficient use of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Educational and industry experience.
  • Experience with 3-D modeling.
  • 2+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D with a professional civil design.
  • Proficiency in BIM authoring tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley.
  • Proficiency in 4-D platforms such as Navisworks simulate and Synchro.
  • Knowledge of Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise, Procore, ACC, and Aconex.
  • Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
  • Working knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle would be desirable.
  • Experience of working within construction project environments would be desirable.
  • Experience of large complex projects in infrastructure would be desirable.
  • Understanding design and construction phases and alignment with Digital Plans.
  • Project experience with implementation of BIM process.
  • On-site construction experience would be desirable.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
