About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Policy Specialist to join our team at the Heart and Stroke Foundation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in implementing our mission initiatives in Saskatchewan, aligning with our organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocacy and Government Relations: Develop and implement advocacy campaigns and plans to drive health policy and systems change in alignment with provincial and national priorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and strengthen provincial engagement of People with Lived Experience (PWLE) and caregivers, and engage with health professional stakeholders to advance our advocacy and systems priority areas.
  • Public Awareness and Education: Provide leadership and support to public awareness and education efforts in the area of promoting health, saving lives, and enhancing recovery.
  • Health Equity and Inclusion: Support targeted initiatives in Saskatchewan to promote health equity in priority populations, and strategically engage with Indigenous organizations, communities, and leaders in SK.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in a field related to policy, health, education, or business.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years or relevant experience in a health policy / systems related field or health care context.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to lead / engage small and large groups, knowledge of government, health systems, and stakeholder relations.
