Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Crestline Coach Ltd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in fostering a culture of safety and developing and implementing safety processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in safety improvement initiatives and projects.
- Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and resolution of any compliance issues.
- Promote a culture of safety through effective communication and engagement with employees.
- Serve as a safety champion and role model within the organization.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
- A degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience and knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS 18001 would be considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of safety systems (OH&C Level 1 & 2) is an asset.
- Experience in Risk Management and project management is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and influence others in a positive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships and function as a team member.
