About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join Scotiabank's team as a Funding Representative - Financial Operations. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the validity and accuracy of Conditional Sale Agreements and Loan Agreements in all respects.
- Resolve discrepancies by communicating with Credit Analysts and/or dealers to make corrections.
- Refer exception funding situations to the leadership team for review and resolution.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations for operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vision/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask while utilizing numerous operating systems.
- Detail-oriented ensuring seamless accuracy of all documentation being reviewed.
- Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills to successfully engage with customers invitingly and professionally to build sustainable relationships.
- Previous customer-facing experience, phone or other, is preferred.
- Completion of post-secondary education (college or university) is preferred.
- Previous administrative and document management experience is an asset.
Language Requirements
Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English and French because they will serve English-speaking clientele.
