An excellent opportunity to manage the day-to-day shipping & receiving operation of the warehouse, guide and support the administrative staff and warehouse associates. Lead team in meeting goals and objectives. Main resource and the "go to" person for Customer Service on all receiving and shipping concerns.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the floor and administrative staff. Manage and support the day-to-day operations in the shipping and receiving department.
  • Reallocate manpower daily as needed due to priority changes or available resources
  • Manage daily production needs through labor planning tools to ensure maximum utilization of staff in all areas and make sure all production numbers are met. Ensure established labor and production targets are met in all areas and ensure accountability at all levels, administrative and associate
  • Review capacity and productivity KPIs regularly. Spend 60 percent at minimum on the floor, constantly following up with staff on productivity and throughput.
  • Work Closely with Operations Manager to ensure all associates are properly trained in their respective areas and are made aware of the needs of the customer accounts being serviced.
  • Be the main operational shipping / receiving point of contact with the Customer.
  • Support and assist the performance management process / performance reviews.
  • Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, employee development and job satisfaction.
  • Review and approve time cards and time sheets, work closely with administrative staff to ensure timely reporting to Payroll Dept.
  • Responsible for Housekeeping in the Shipping / Receiving Area. Timely ordering of supplies
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Preferred 2-3 years Team Lead experience.
  • Knowledge of distribution operating systems, Warehouse Management System -WMS
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to drive for results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage employee conflict to a successful resolution.
  • Ability to assess talent and build development plans
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members
  • Ability to proactively plan and organize work to accomplish goals
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience using MS Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook
