Job Title: Research Fellow

Job Description: Join our team as a Research Fellow and contribute to impact-oriented health services research, synthesizing scientific evidence to design, deliver, and evaluate person and family-centred health and social care services.

The SE Research Centre conducts health services research to generate, translate, adapt, and apply scientific evidence in the design, delivery, and evaluation of person and family-centred health and social care services. As a Research Fellow, you will be responsible for acting as site lead for a multi-site research study focused on developing, implementing, and testing an evidence-based toolkit to support personal support providers' optimal inclusion in team-based home care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Study Development & Implementation
    • Implement high-quality research study protocols, including obtaining research ethics approval, participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and knowledge mobilization activities
    • Ensure high-quality data collection and analysis in research studies
    • Promote research projects within the SE Research Centre research program
    • Support the development of research study protocols
  • Knowledge Mobilization
    • Lead the development of project reports, summaries, and social media content to support messaging and knowledge mobilization of study results
    • Lead writing activities for academic publication
    • Monitor conference opportunities and support the development and execution of presentations
  • Team Support/Mentorship
    • Support Research Associates on project management of scientific research studies
    • Lead team initiatives to improve collaboration, efficiency, and engagement

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience
    • PhD in health services research related discipline from a recognized university
    • Minimum of five years of experience participating in relevant health services research activities
    • Experience with writing for various audiences, including academic publication
    • Experience mentoring others in an academic and/or research context
  • Skill/Competency Requirements
    • Ability to employ a wide range of data collection and data analysis methods
    • Strong team collaboration and internal/external networking skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills in the context of executing research protocols
    • Strong oral and written communications skills and diplomacy and interpersonal skills
