Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent nursing services, including administration of prescribed medical treatments and leadership roles within the healthcare team.
  • Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program required, or an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent work experience in a clinical setting.
  • Satisfactory employment record is required.
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Knowledge of Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Ability to perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Rotating shifts and weekends may be required.
