Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Travel Nurse to join our team at Shared Health. As a Provincial Travel Nurse Team Member, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients across Manitoba.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications.
  • Lead the healthcare team and facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year recent work experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Experience in emergency, hemodialysis, operating room, PACU, obstetrics, labor and delivery, long-term care, mental health, medicine, or surgery.
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program required, or an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program is required.
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM), and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Knowledge of Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Knowledge of Regional/Facility/Unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Nursing care knowledge related to clinical area assigned.
  • Knowledge of Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
  • Knowledge of Roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of Principles of delegation.
Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Rotating shifts and weekends may be required.
