About the Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in the Northern Zone. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective drug therapy for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and oversee drug distribution systems, including inpatient and outpatient services
  • Supervise pharmacy support staff and identify and resolve drug-related problems
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, and pharmacokinetic monitoring
  • Teach patients about medication use and make therapeutic recommendations to the medical team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP-accredited university
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Minimum two years of experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
