We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to support the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department. The successful candidate will assist in the pre and post-analytical phases of testing, perform specimen procurement and processing, and provide excellent customer service.

About the Opportunity:

  • Assist in the pre and post-analytical phases of testing, including specimen procurement and processing
  • Perform various functions related to testing, such as data entry, media preparation, and sterilization
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with various stakeholders and clients
  • Work independently and use good judgment to maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety and infection prevention procedures

About You:

  • Recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to adapt to updates and changes in operating procedures
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Meditech
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel

Hours:

  • Temporary, Part-Time Position; 37.5 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months

Compensation:

$23.19 - $26.27 Hourly
