Job Title: Retirement Home Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retirement Home Manager to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our retirement homes in Shelburne and Thornbury, ON.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement the overall strategy for the retirement homes, ensuring high-quality resident care and services.
  • Exercise delegated authority for resident care and planning, working closely with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the overall budget for the retirement homes, ensuring financial stability and sustainability.
  • Coordinate education, infection control, quality improvement, best practice, and risk management processes to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents.
  • Participate in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating resident assessments and care planning in collaboration with the care team.
  • Respond promptly to resident concerns, ensuring follow-up and resolution to meet resident and family standards.
  • Establish positive relationships with residents and families, addressing all concerns and complaints in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Lead resident care conferences to ensure effective communication and collaboration among the care team.
  • Recruit, select, and hire nursing staff, ensuring training and compliance with Retirement Home Regulatory Authority regulations.
  • Manage labor relations concerns, ensuring proper resolution and performance management.
  • Lead the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process to drive excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase occupancy levels and promote the retirement homes.
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships to enhance the lives of residents and promote the retirement homes.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of clinical and business acumen.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a senior living environment.
  • RPN/RN with current good standing with the CNO.
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve complex resident and staff situations within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of computerized software and Resident Care Management systems is an asset.
