Southbridge Care Homes seeks a Retirement Home Manager to oversee daily operations at two homes in Shelburne and Thornbury, ON, providing exceptional care and leadership to seniors.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will:

  • Coordinate and supervise daily operations, ensuring a high standard of care and resident satisfaction.
  • Exercise delegated authority for resident care and planning, making informed decisions to promote well-being.
  • Lead and develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of quality care and continuous learning.
  • Manage the overall budget, ensuring financial stability and responsible resource allocation.
  • Coordinate education, infection control, quality improvement, and risk management processes to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement accurate resident assessments and care plans.
  • Respond promptly to resident concerns, ensuring follow-up and resolution to maintain high standards of care.
  • Establish positive relationships with residents and families, addressing concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Lead resident care conferences to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Recruit, select, and train nursing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage labor relations, resolving concerns and addressing performance issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Lead quality improvement processes to drive continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase occupancy levels and promote the home's services.
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships to enhance the home's reputation and services.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 1-3 years of clinical and business experience, with a strong understanding of senior living environments.
  • RPN/RN with current good standing with the CNO.
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve complex situations within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of computerized software and resident care management systems is an asset.
