Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing: Analyze sales records and inventory levels to develop strategic procurement programs.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Facilitate on-time material availability by collaborating with suppliers.
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Effective Relationships: Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal associates.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate proposals, select suppliers, and award contracts.
  • New Supplier Selection: Actively participate in new supplier selection.
Purchase Order Management
  • Purchase Order Handling: Handle purchase orders based on production demands and inventory levels.
  • Order Expediation: Expedite orders when necessary and communicate impacts to the production schedule.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve discrepancies in pricing, late deliveries, and other issues.
Negotiation and Cost Control
  • Pricing Negotiation: Perform pricing reviews and negotiate costs within budgetary limits.
  • Cost Savings: Monitor supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Certification: SCMP/SMT certification is considered an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs with a specialization in Excel.
  • ERP Experience: Experience with ERP software is considered an asset.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to be responsive and have strong customer service skills when communicating with vendors/suppliers.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Understanding of procurement practices and contract terms.
  • Engineering Skills: Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Excellent written, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the manufacturing industry/environment is considered an asset.
