Job Summary: Nova Scotia Health seeks a Dietitian to provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities, advising on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.

The Dietitian is responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation. The Dietitian advises on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors and contributes to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers.

  • Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with major concentration in Foods and Nutrition
  • Dietetic Internship Program
  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association
  • Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian
  • Inpatient clinical nutrition experience an asset
  • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Experience counselling patients in an outpatient setting
  • Current WHMIS an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
  • Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Working Conditions
  • Temporary Long Assignment, Full-Time Position, 75 Hours Bi-Weekly
  • Approximate term of 12 months (Dates subject to change)
Compensation and Benefits

$32.95 - $43.43 Hourly
