United Gulf Developments Ltd. is a diverse firm providing commercial and residential opportunities through mixed-use developments and urban renewal projects. As a Senior Engineer/Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive site evaluations and analyses to identify potential constraints and challenges for development projects. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external experts to plan and design critical infrastructure elements like roads, utilities, drainage systems, and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough site evaluations, analyzing topographic surveys, soil assessments, and environmental impact studies, to identify any potential constraints or challenges that may impact the development projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to plan and design essential infrastructure components, such as roads, sidewalks, utilities (water, sewer, stormwater), drainage systems, and landscaping
  • Utilize your expertise in civil engineering principles to develop innovative and practical subdivision layouts that optimize land use, infrastructure development, and business needs
  • Manage the subdivision approval process, coordinating with local authorities and obtaining required permits and approvals
  • Stay current with local regulations and ensure that all designs comply with these requirements
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, preparing project schedules, budgets, and progress reports
  • Conduct comprehensive cost estimations by analyzing project requirements, materials, labor, and equipment costs
  • Develop project specifications that outline the technical requirements, materials, and quality standards for construction
  • Prepare and review contract documents, including agreements, scopes of work, and terms and conditions
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in municipal design and layout

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of municipal/civil engineering experience, with a focus on subdivision layout, road design, service design, and development projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a Master's degree would be an asset
  • On path for registration or currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
  • Proven understanding of zoning and subdivision regulations
  • Proven project management and technical skills
  • Experience with software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D is considered an asset
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
