Job Title: Dietary Aide/Cook

Job Summary:

The Dietary Cook Aide provides exceptional service to residents by preparing and serving food in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve food to residents in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow food safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe food environment
  • Collaborate with the Nutrition Manager to ensure resident dietary needs are met
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Work effectively in a team environment to achieve kitchen goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Food Safety Awareness Program Certificate required
  • Certified as a Cook, Apprentice, or Cook 2 (assistant) preferred
  • Experience in a kitchen environment an asset
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Stand and walk for long periods
  • Sit for short periods
  • Bend, stoop, and carry
  • Push/pull wheeled equipment
  • Safely transfer and lift (up to 20 kg.) in accordance with Sherwood Park Manor's transfer and lift procedures
