Director, Design and Construction

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Design and Construction to lead our major hospital development and redevelopment expansion projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of these projects, ensuring they meet clinical outcomes and align with the latest standards and best practices in health facility design, project delivery, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement strategic and long-term plans for major hospital development and redevelopment expansion projects, ensuring facilities are planned, designed, and constructed to meet clinical outcomes.
- Design and Construction Oversight: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with department leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage capital and operating budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of financial resources and effective cost control.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with projects, ensuring compliance with Fraser Health and provincial standards.
- Leadership and Development: Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality projects.
- Education and Experience: Master's degree and professional designation in a relevant discipline, supplemented by ten (10) years' recent related experience in progressively more complex and senior management leadership roles in a large multi-site organization.
- Competencies: Demonstrated leadership practices, project management skills, financial management expertise, and risk management capabilities.
