What does the job look like?

Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for storytelling and community engagement? Peterborough County's Tourism and Communications Division is seeking a dedicated Communications Coordinator to enhance our outreach and effectively communicate our corporate and tourism initiatives to the community.

About the Role:

As a vital member of our team, you will:

  • Strategic Communications: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to enhance Peterborough County's profile and image.
  • Public Relations: Coordinate and support public relations activities, special events, and projects to engage the community and promote tourism initiatives.
  • Corporate Communications: Provide support for corporate communications, including preparing documentation and monitoring programs to support operational divisions.
  • Website and Digital Marketing: Manage and update the County's website and social media platforms, ensuring timely and engaging content to promote tourism and County initiatives.
  • Tourism Marketing: Develop and execute marketing campaigns to attract visitors and promote local attractions, events, and activities.
  • Liaison Duties: Act as the point of contact for employees, departments, and external parties for corporate communications in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure consistent and effective communication across the County.
The Tourism and Communications Division encourages and supports the County's corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management, leadership, accountability and flexibility/adaptability.
