We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Hardware Product Development team in Concord, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and verifying key technologies on world-class analytical instruments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and design mechanical parts and subassemblies for integration into Mass Spectrometers for future and current products.
- Assist or lead the build of prototype assemblies to test functionality, analyze the ease of assembly, troubleshoot as necessary, and summarize results.
- Deliver design solutions, CAD models, detailed GD&T drawings, tolerance analyses, and engineering documentation consistent with guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, research scientists, product development teams, and project managers to develop theoretical concepts into functional prototypes as part of the product development process.
- Provide technical support for released products to improve manufacturing yield, field reliability, and product cost.
- Mechanical Engineering University Degree (or similar discipline)
- Minimum of 7 or more years of design experience
- A candidate with an interest in physics or life science technology would be an asset
- Experience with product design with an emphasis on product cost, product reliability, and design for manufacturability would be an asset
