Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Hydrodynamics Research Officer to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our Ocean, Coastal and River Engineering research centre, you will be responsible for delivering applied hydrodynamics research in the field of ocean and naval architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct physical modeling campaigns on ships and marine structures in our state-of-the-art facilities.
  • Analyze results in accordance with recommended standards and communicate findings through technical reports and journal manuscripts.
  • Assist in the design and optimization of marine systems, considering hull forms, propulsion systems, and stabilities.
  • Develop and implement physical models tests for predicting the performance of marine vehicles and marine structures performance in open water.
Requirements
  • PhD in Ocean and naval architectural engineering or relevant area of expertise.
  • Strong experience working with the principles of hydrodynamics applied to ocean and naval architectural engineering.
  • Experience in the evaluation of ship performance in open water through model-scale experimental programs.
  • Experience with project management methods, practices, and tools.
