About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Technology Advisor to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As an Industrial Technology Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) and helping innovative Canadian companies grow and thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and support innovative Canadian companies in various sectors, including mining, energy, clean technologies, and construction.
  • Develop and commercialize innovative products or services, with a focus on tangible results.
  • Collaborate with industry professionals to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies for growth.
  • Provide consulting services to facilitate the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in science or engineering from a recognized university in a relevant discipline.
  • A combination of a post-secondary degree in another field with extensive relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with a degree in business administration, management, business, finance, or marketing.
Desirable Skills
  • Broad and recent experience in industrial affairs as an entrepreneur or senior executive in one or more technological fields.
  • Experience in international business development or intellectual property management is an asset.
  • Broad and recent experience in industrial affairs as an entrepreneur or senior executive in an SME is an asset.

Compensation

The goal of this staffing measure is to fill a position at the ACR-4 level. This is a well-established career-level position with a salary scale of $ to $. Typically, our Industrial Technology Advisors are placed between the salary ranges of $ and $. Note: The full AR/ACR salary scheme consists of five levels. The salary determination will be based on an assessment of the applicant's expertise, results, and impacts of their previous work experience compared to the level requirements. Therefore, the initial salary may fall within a different level of the ACR salary scale (i.e., above or below the level specified for this position).
