The Office Manager oversees Human Resource and Office Management functions within all departments, reporting to the Executive Director. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrolments, changes, and terminations
- Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers for accurate record keeping and proper deductions
- Provide customer service by answering employee questions and resolving issues
- Recommend new policies and procedures to improve company efficiency
- Conduct audits and recommend corrective action
- Assist with recruitment, interview process, and performance reviews
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, finance, business management, or business administration
- 3 to 5 years of experience in finance, payroll, and not-for-profit society
- Strong knowledge of employment law and diversity management
- Excellent communication, presentation, and written skills
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently
- Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
- Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
- Professional appearance and manners
Working Conditions:
- Travel may be required
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
