**Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Position** A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required to provide high-quality care to residents in a long-term care facility, working as a team leader and administering medications, treatments, and directing Continuing Care Assistants.

Licenced Practical Nurses (LPN)

Evergreen Home for Special Care is a long-term care facility located in the Annapolis Valley. The facility provides care for residents regardless of age, sex, race, creed, and social status.

The facility is comprised of a Childrens' Centre and a Seniors Centre. The Childrens' Centre provides 24-hour nursing coverage for 18 children, while the Seniors Centre has 97 residents. All residents receive multi-disciplinary care based on an holistic approach to ensure physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The Seniors Centre provides care to adults and seniors with physical, mental, and intellectual needs addressed through qualified nursing care, dietary services, and recreational programming in a clean and safe environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Administer medications and complete treatments
  • Direct Continuing Care Assistants in providing direct resident care
  • Work as a team leader and maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Provide excellent care to Adults, Seniors, and Children

**Qualifications:**

  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program
  • Currently Licensed in the province of Nova Scotia or qualified for licensing
  • Successful completion of Pharmacology course
  • Ability to work as a team member and maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Strong desire to promote excellent care
  • Demonstrated consistent regular attendance in current and past employment
  • Availability to work all shifts (8 or 12 hour rotating shifts)
  • Recent experience in Pediatric & Geriatric experience preferred
  • Preference given to candidates with leadership experience
  • Preference given to candidates with competency in computer technology

**Hours of Work:**

  • Permanent Part-time positions
  • 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts
