Dining Room Server

This is a temporary, part-time Server position that requires a 5-day workweek, with hours from 11:30am to 7:30pm.

The hourly wage is $24.08, with the possibility of wage leveling ending and the pay rate reflecting the collective agreement pay rates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of hospitality-style dining room service, including setting, serving, and cleaning tables
  • Assist with food preparation and presentation under the direction of the Chef
  • Maintain established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout food preparation and service
  • Promote and track a la carte and wine service sales
  • Comply with provincial regulations, food and beverage department policies, and ORCA standards
  • Participate in emergency preparedness drills and education sessions
  • Work in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

Requirements:

  • Smart Serve designation and one year of experience in dining room service
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Safe Food Handling Certification preferred
  • Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset
  • Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
