Server Role Summary

The Server position at Dominion Bar + Kitchen is a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Server, you will be responsible for guiding guests through our menu, answering questions, making recommendations, and ensuring that every meal is memorable and unique.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Guide guests through the menu, answer questions, and make recommendations to enhance their dining experience.
  • Ensure that all guests benefit from current promotions and menu offerings.
  • Assist with training and development of new employees when required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and excellent customer service.
  • Perform various guest services, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, and collecting payments.
  • Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining and stock service areas with supplies.
  • Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, and tidying up the server station.
Requirements
  • Previous serving experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Must be Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certified or be willing to become certified.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Well-groomed, with good eye contact, friendly, and polite, creating a great first impression.
  • Able to communicate well with a wide variety of people, adapt tone, and build rapport.
  • Outgoing and confident, comfortable promoting items and services.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player and works productively with others.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have a strong initiative.
  • Strong customer service skills – able to exceed guest expectations.
