About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team in the Geriatric Program at Fraser Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services to mentally ill elderly clients of special complexity and difficulty, and their caregivers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide interventions using a variety of psychosocial treatment modalities, crisis intervention, and family counseling.
  2. Collaboration and Liaison: Work closely with other team members, community agencies, and care facilities to provide liaison services, coordinate work, and cooperate with members of the team.
  3. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely clinical and statistical documentation, and prepare written reports according to established policies and procedures.
  4. Consultation and Education: Provide consultation, support, and informal education to families and other informal caregivers of clients, and facilitate client and caregiver utilization of appropriate community services.
  5. Crisis Intervention and Advocacy: Provide crisis intervention and act as an advocate on behalf of clients and their families.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or other relevant health-related discipline.
  • One (1) year's recent, related experience with Geriatric psychiatry clients in a recognized psychiatric and/or community mental health setting.
  • Eligibility for registration with relevant professional associations.
  • A valid Class V BC Driver's Licence and possession of a personal vehicle.

  • Good understanding of relevant legislation.
