Shared Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. As a RN, you will provide professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, the RN is responsible for:

  • Providing independent nursing services to patients
  • Administering prescribed medical treatments
  • Leading the healthcare team and facilitating patient care and discharge
  • Demonstrating a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Recent, related experience as a Registered Nurse (up to 2 years)
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Knowledge of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Recent, related mental health experience
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions
