Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent nursing services to patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications as required.
  • Lead the healthcare team in providing patient-centered care and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program.
  • Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Recent, related mental health experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Knowledge of the Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Knowledge of Regional/Facility/Unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
