About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support our Forestry Planning Team in Edmonton.
  • As a Forestry Planning Intern, you will work on data management, analytics, and outreach projects to support business decisions and improve data management processes.
Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Ensure data management standards are consistently followed, support data storage and retrieval systems, and QC the accuracy and format of various datasets from multiple sources.
  • Analytics: Support remote sensing-based analysis projects, ad-hoc analysis to support various maintenance and construction initiatives, and analyze field workplans, inventory patrols, and asset data to facilitate business decisions.
  • Outreach: Work with the ATCO team lead and other subject matter experts to facilitate successful projects and develop strategies to improve data management or analytical processes.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a program related to Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or Natural Resource Management.
  • Organized, self-motivated individual who can work effectively under minimal supervision and within a team environment on complex technical projects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to learn new processes and skills.
  • Familiar with data management principles and spatial data, with experience in ArcGIS (ESRI or FME) an asset.
