JOB PURPOSE: What's the point of this role?

The Investment Specialist (IS) is in charge of directly engaging with clients, supporting sales and marketing endeavors, collaborating within a team atmosphere, and communicating with our Integrated Advisory partners and other parties in the investment sector as needed. The position involves meeting with current and potential private clients to address their requirements, provide portfolio suggestions, and assess their progress and market trends. Expanding the private client business through business development is also a crucial aspect of this role. The IS reports to the COO/CCO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Fosters a culture of compliance across the organization.
• Manages Business Development with Integrated Advisory partners and Financial Advisors.
• Supervises all aspects of client funds administration, including account compliance and financial balancing with external custodians, monthly and quarterly account reporting.
• Ensures adherence to compliance standards.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of company products and investment philosophy, pool structures, and capital partners.
• Ensures models meet risk and return goals.
• Contributes to the training, growth, and advancement of Financial Advisors.
• Collaborates with Asset Management, the PM team, and Financial Advisors.
• Supports Financial Advisors in comprehending products, positioning, and messaging.
• Cultivates and sustains relationships with new and existing CPA firm clients.
• Manages specific new business objectives and assigned client base.
• Commits to engaging in professional development opportunities.
• Travels when necessary to meet client requirements.

CLIENT RELATIONS
• Represents the company in client meetings.
• Acts as a designated client account manager when required.• Supports our objective for client service excellence by keeping clients informed of significant changes to their portfolio(s) and the reasoning behind them.
• Builds, nurtures, and sustains strong client relationships effectively.
BUSINESS EXPANSION
• Gives presentations to potential clients as needed.
• Enhances the company's brand, reputation, and role.
LEADERSHIP AND TEAM GROWTH
• Sets a good example in ethics, conduct, and crisis management.
• Maintains a positive working rapport with the Asset Management team, Portfolio Management team, and Financial Advisors.
• Coaches, mentors, and advises individuals within the organization.
• Serves as a role model: creates an environment that fosters constructive debate in a secure and intellectually stimulating manner.
• Encourages open dialogue.
FINANCIAL & OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
• Attains Sales Objectives.
• Manages Client Portfolios - ensures client accounts stay within tolerance levels and prevents performance differences between accounts.
• Effectively manages expenses; submits monthly expense reports.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Demonstrated outstanding business development and sales accomplishments.
• Proficiency in portfolio management and construction.
• Established track record as a relationship builder.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills.
• Self-driven and proactive.
• Committed, enthusiastic, and involved.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree (Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance) or equivalent relevant experience
• 3-5 years of successful sales experience in the wealth management sector
• CFA Level 1 or CIM certification required
• AAR certification required
