**Job Title: Counsellor, Rapid Access Counselling**

**Job Type: Permanent, 0.8 FTE**

**Position Overview**:
Are you an experienced counselling generalist, knowledgeable about systemic work and providing counselling to clients across the lifespan? Are you passionate about providing high quality counselling that is accessible and affordable? Kindred is seeking two experienced counsellors to support our sector-leading single-session Rapid Access Counselling (RAC) program. **Key Accountabilities (job functions include but are not limited to)**:

- Engage with clients through a client-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed lens
- Demonstrate a high standard of performance in provision of services to clients in both single session and ongoing models of counselling
- Engage in general assessment and risk management in accordance with Kindred standards
- Maintain working knowledge of current community resources in the Calgary community
- Responsible for accurate and timely data collection and data entry in client database, maintaining complete client records
- Maintain strong working relationships with peers and community partners, working collaboratively and effectively
- Participation in supervision and team meetings with a view for engaging in reflective practice, increasing clinical capacity and learning from others’ expertise
- Work collaboratively with peers and supervisor to ensure service delivery is aligned and consistent with best practices

Qualifications:

- A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline;
- Current registration with a professional governing body;
- Have a demonstrated ability to engage in a generalist practice with a wide range of presenting concerns with children, individuals, couples and families;
- Expectation of flexibility with hours to meet client needs; some evening work required, must be available to work one evening a week either Tuesday or Wednesday;
- Ability to work independently on-site and virtually;
- Single session experience is an asset;
- Previous experience supervising graduate-level practicum students an asset;
- Strongly encouraged to have a current (completed in last 6 months) Police Information Check and Alberta Intervention Check;
- Takes a posture of Cultural humility in working with diverse populations; experience with Indigenous and/or immigrant families is an asset;
- Core Brain Story Certification through Alberta Family Wellness Initiative is an asset;
- Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and use of a vehicle with appropriate insurance.
