Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Institutional Client Credit Management team. As a key member of our North American Institutional Client Credit Management Team, you will be responsible for managing a trading credit portfolio and facilitating transactions originated by the various trading businesses of RBC Capital Markets (CM) within the regulated asset management and pension space, while safeguarding the credit quality of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain relationships with Global Markets sales and trading professionals and counterparties to ensure client needs are met on a timely basis, including addressing credit requirements as necessary.
  • Drive collaboration across the team, the front office, and functional partners while maintaining sound risk management principles and supporting business growth.
  • Timely preparation of transaction requests in support of Global Markets credit-intensive trading activities with global asset managers on behalf of the funds they manage.
  • Understand and assess client investment strategies from a risk perspective.
  • Maintenance and accuracy of trading limit data with CCMS and all relevant limit systems.
  • Compliance reporting.
  • Participate in KYC process and Annual reviews.
  • Completion of assigned projects and other duties in an efficient and effective manner that supports business initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of RBC trading policies and guidelines.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with Global Markets trading professionals, Group Risk Management, Trading Documentation, Corporate Banking, and RBC Law Group.
  • Understand and assist in negotiating supporting trading documentation, including ISDA, MRA, and GMSLA.
  • Coach and guide junior professionals to ensure that employees understand RBC vision and support targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals and employee career development.
  • Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process and keeping them focused on business priorities.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree with a focus in finance, accounting, business, economics, or other quantitative fields.
  • People management experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of credit experience working within the financial institutions.
  • Strong credit skills and specific knowledge of trading credit.
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.
  • Understanding and knowledge of fund industry and securities regulations governing funds.
  • Strong understanding of RBC trading products, including FX, swaps, and securities finance.
  • Understanding of trading documentation.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage tasks with accompanying attention to detail.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.
