Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Director, Speech Language Pathology to lead our Public Health Speech Language Pathology Program in Burnaby, B.C.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Program Development and Management

Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Public Health Speech Language Pathology Program, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.

Leadership and Supervision

Supervise and lead a team of Speech Language Pathologists and Speech Language Assistants, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure high-quality patient care and program delivery.

Clinical Services

Provide clinical services to clients, assessing and identifying problems, formulating goals, and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Quality Improvement

Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and program outcomes, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of changes in client care practice.

Education and Training

Develop and deliver education and training programs for staff, patients, families, and community agencies, promoting knowledge and skills in speech language pathology practice.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with the Manager and other stakeholders to address disciplinary issues, recruit and select new staff, and develop and maintain statistical data.

Policy Development and Review

Develop and review Public Health policies, procedures, and quality standards related to speech language pathology clinical practice, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Research and Development

Develop and implement research programs to advance the field of speech language pathology, maintaining knowledge of current developments and best practices.

Other Responsibilities

Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Public Health Speech Language Pathology Program.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized educational institution, with a minimum of three years' related clinical experience in Speech Language Pathology, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Current active registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and certification in applicable advanced competency, as well as eligibility for membership in the Canadian and/or BC Association of Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology (CASLPA and/or BCSLPA).

A valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective communication with children, families, staff members, and representatives from community agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and organize workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and provide support to others.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
