Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Director, Speech Language Pathology to lead our Public Health Speech Language Pathology Program in Burnaby, B.C.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Program Development and Management

Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Public Health Speech Language Pathology Program, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.

Leadership and Supervision

Supervise and lead a team of Speech Language Pathologists and Speech Language Assistants, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure high-quality patient care and program delivery.

Clinical Services

Provide clinical services to clients, assessing and identifying problems, formulating goals, and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Quality Improvement

Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and program outcomes, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of changes in client care practice.

Education and Training

Provide education and in-service training to community agencies, patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team, promoting knowledge and skills in speech language pathology practice.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with the Manager and other stakeholders to address disciplinary issues, recruit and select new staff, prepare budget information, and develop and maintain statistical data.

Professional Development

Maintain knowledge of current developments in evidence-based speech language pathology practice, reviewing relevant literature, consulting with other professionals, and attending relevant education programs.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized educational institution. Three (3) years' related clinical experience in Speech Language Pathology, including a minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Certifications and Registrations

Current active registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and certification in applicable advanced competency.

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective communication with children, families, staff members, and representatives from community agencies, and supervise and provide support to others.
