Product Safety Engineer

Join TÜV SÜD America as a Product Safety Engineer and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of products with international and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform safety testing and inspections to ensure conformity with international and national regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for customer products, adhering to relevant standards.
  • Generate revenue by billing engineering time to TÜV SÜD America customers, typically on a project basis.
  • Maintain accurate and timely test documentation, ensuring it is ready for incorporation into test reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design theory, product standards, test procedures, instrumentation, and technology.
  • Collaborate with the regional product safety team to prepare and host audits, both internal and external.
  • Provide engineering expertise to TÜV SÜD America clients to ensure product compliance with international safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, providing technical feedback, answering questions, and relaying messages.
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of product safety experience, with a focus on consumer product safety standards and medical standards.
  • Understanding and experience with ISO 17025, CRM, and SAP platforms are preferred.
